Consistency and Time

Consistency with weight loss

The only difference between me and you is consistency and time. A great leader said that to me. It doesn't matter if you have 5 pounds to lose or 150 pounds to lose. If you are consistent with your actions they will add up to results.

So many times I see people trying to RUSH the weight loss journey. Once they decide they want to lose 40 pounds then it better freaking happen in 4 months or less. The better lose 2 pounds a week and heaven forbid if they gain a 1/2 pound then they feel crushed.

Life is full of surprises. Always! There are things where we can plan and prepare. We know Christmas happens at the same time every year. We know our birthday happens on the same day. It is up to us to prepare as much as possible to anticipate the surprises. There might be birthday cake on your birthday. Don't freak out!

Every 10 pounds equals a size. If you are wearing size 12 and lose 10 pounds then chances are you are now a size 10. If you were wearing dresses that were stretchy and you have no idea about your size then that is where you begin. Track where you are and document the journey.

One thing I appreciate is that the time will pass if I'm eating hamburgers & pizza or if I'm eating salads and bananas. The time passes.

Make as many healthy choices as you can make and be as consistent as possible. One salad will not get you to your goal weight and one hamburger will not make you gain 40 pounds.

If you've been off track for 6 months that is okay. Your next meal can be on track and within a few days you will begin to feel a difference.

It may not always translate into pounds on the scale but it can be your digestion or your skin.

Was every day on track? No. Was every week a loss? No. I just kept going and it turned into over 10 pounds lost. So far.

Don't wait to enjoy your life. Enjoy the journey now.
