first week of 80 day obsession

I spent months if not YEARS justifying my celebrations or rewards. It's Monday, lets have wine and watch The Bachelor. It's Friday night lets go out to dinner and have a nice meal and get out of the house together.

It's Sunday and I'm tired. Lets order pizza. I'd also lie to myself about how much I was really eating. Chips here, hummus there, sushi here, pizza there, 3 glasses of wine and the list goes on.

I'd tell myself that I need to go back to Weight Watchers and weigh in. I need to count my points. I need to ________.

Working out is not the challenge for me. I don't mind working out. Shoot I teach group fitness. Keeping on track with nutrition is the struggle.

Enter 80 Day Obsession.

What is it? An 80 day program that has 80 different on demand workouts with a meal plan that shows you how to use timed nutrition.

The last time I weighed in officially was 12/16 and the holidays happened. I knew I'd be up. After eating according to the nutrition plan of 80 Day Obsession I stepped on the scale and was actually down. -.2 from the last time I was at Weight Watchers but -3.5 from the weigh in from when I began this program.

How does the meal plan compare to Freestyle?

First let me clarify that I am in Phase 1, week 1 of 80 Day Obsession and eating Plan C. 1800-2099 calories. With Weight Watchers I'm eating 23 points per day with 35 weeklies.

  • Freestyle doesn't items in green containers a few yellow and red ones too. (Eggs, chicken breast, spinach and more) A pre-workout meal would have eggs, spinach and oatmeal. 1 green, 1 red, and 1 yellow. With Freestyle you would only be tracking points for the oatmeal.

  • Both plans encourage you to eat clean, whole foods but Freestyle seems to allow for more treats like chocolate, wine, chips, popcorn. 80 Day Obsession is highly focused on FOOD not Treats

  • Freestyle is great for a lifetime of food choices and fits well with travel or events.

  • 80 Day Obsession fits well with a deadline. You are going to commit to eating and working out for 80 days and then transition into a healthy lifestyle with a few treats added in.

How did it go? How do I feel after 1 week?

  • Skin feels amazing. Very clear.

  • Haven't had alcohol in a week and I'm sleeping better.

  • Not having chips or processed foods makes a difference in my energy level

  • Not digging getting up at 5:30am to workout but I'm willing to put in this effort for 80 days and then workout when I want later

  • Timed nutrition is great and keeps me full longer. I'm not as hungry.

  • Eating 5-6 meals a day and staying without my Freestyle points is cool and I feel successful

Week 2 is on. Excited to see what happens this week. The meal planning and prep is easier and I'm not as stressed about it.
